With no script and no safety net, a fearless ensemble of local writers, performers, and artists come together to create an original show—written, rehearsed, and staged in under 10 days. The result? A fast and fiercely creative production that’s unlike anything else in town.

Imagine handing a group of professional, wildly talented local artists a blank page and saying, "See you in 10 days!" That's literally our business model. In just 10 days, we write, rehearse, design, stage, and perform an hour long, brand-new original production. No script. No safety net. Just caffeine, creativity, and an unreasonable amount of optimism.

Every Delicious production is completely original, which means you'll never see the same show twice. We've created comedies, dramas, murder mysteries, musicals, podcasts, and several productions that still refuse to fit neatly into a genre (And we’re very proud of that!). Around here, everyone creates. Actors become writers. Writers become performers. Musicians compose. Designers dream up impossible ideas. Somehow, by opening night... it all works!

Since 2012, we've produced 35+ original shows featuring the incredible artists of the Madison area while proving that the best ideas often begin with someone saying, "Okay... this might sound weird, but hear me out..."

The brainchild of Madison-based actor, director, and producer Tony Trout, Are We Delicious? reflects his deep love for ensemble storytelling and bold theatrical risk-taking. In April 2023, Tony passed the creative reins to long-time Delicious veterans Stacey Garbarski and Gina M. Gómez, who now lead the company with the same fearless spirit and commitment to boundary-pushing creativity. Perfection is overrated. Creativity is contagious. Chaos is part of the recipe.
